Changing Email Settings

These settings MUST be changed to ensure your email program will work after June 30, 2011.

These settings are not required for web based email, such as Google, Yahoo, Hotmail, or our Webmail.

If you experience any issues adjusting these settings, please contact your technical support department.

New Email Settings for Various E-mail Programs

Open Thunderbird, go to Tools -> Account Settings.
Click Server Settings to the left. Enter your FULL email address for the User Name.
Click Outgoing Server (SMTP) on the right. Select the outgoing server by clicking on it, then click the Edit button.
Under Security and Authentication, select the "Password, transmitted insecurely" option.
In the User Name field, type your FULL email address and click Ok.

Open Windows Mail and go to Tools -> Accounts.
Select the mail account you'll be working with by clicking on it, then click the Properties button.
Click the Servers tab, verify your FULL email address is entered into the "E-mail username" field.
Check the "My server requires authentication" box and click Settings to the right.
Select "Use same setting as my incoming email server" and click Ok.

Open Outlook Express and go to Tools -> Accounts.
Click on your mail account in the list, and then click the Properties button.
Click the Servers tab, verify your FULL email address is entered into the "Account name" field.
Check the "My server requires authentication" box and click Settings to the right.
Select "Use same setting as my incoming email server" and click Ok.

Open Windows Live Mail, right-click on your email account to the left, and click Properties.
Verify your FULL email address is entered into the "Email username" box.
Check the "My server requires authentication" box and click "Settings" to the right.
Select "Use same setting as my incoming email server" and click Ok.

Open Outlook. Go to Tools -> Account settings.
Click on your mail account in the list. Click Change at the top.
Enter your FULL email address into the "User Name" box. Click the "More Settings" button.
Click on the "Outgoing Server" tab, check "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication", and choose "Use same settings as my incoming mail server."
Click OK.

Open Mail and go to Mail -> Click on Preferences.
Click the "Accounts" tab and click on your email account to the left.
Make sure the "Account Information" tab is selected. In the "User Name" box, enter your FULL email address.
Click on the dropdown arrow next to "Outgoing Mail Server" and select "Edit SMTP Server List."
Select your outgoing server from the list at the top. Click Advanced.
Click the "Authentication" dropdown menu, and select Password. For "User Name", enter your FULL email address. Enter your password, and click OK.
